Pioneering Use of Exoskeleton Therapy

Knollwood is the first and only life plan community to offer cutting-edge exoskeleton therapy as part of an in-house physical therapy program. In February 2018, we began pilot testing use of the EksoGTTM robotic exoskeleton to help maintain mobility and physical strength in older adults to support their independence and enhance their quality of life. According to our pilot test, EksoGTTMtherapy improves gait, balance, strength, and mobility better than traditional physical therapy. Click here to read more and be sure to watch our video. Cutting-Edge Fall Prevention Technology

Knollwood is the first and only life plan community in the United States to leverage a new cutting-edge technology to prevent falls, the leading cause of injury for people over age 65. The fall prevention device, installed in half of our assisted living units, uses advanced detection, monitoring, and reporting capabilities to help prevent residents from falling, particularly at night. To discuss how you can support this project, contact Jim Michels at jmichels@armydistaff.org.
