HSC
Our skilled nursing unit is a fully accredited facility. The Health Services Center is available to residents on a temporary basis to recover from a short-term illness or injury as well as long-term care. There is a registered nurse on duty at all times, with a full staff of nurses and aides. A social worker is assigned to each resident to provide for physical and mental well -being.

HSC services include the following:

  • Skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services 24 hours per day
  • Breakfast is served in resident’s room while lunch and dinner are served in the solarium
  • All meal plans are evaluated by a licensed dietician.
  • Daily bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and other individual medical needs are provided
  • Whirlpool baths are given twice a week in addition to daily bedside baths
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling professional medical services
  • Delivery of and assistance with medications
  • Leisure activities provided on daily basis
  • Calendars with activity times and locations are posted in each room and in common areas
  • Rooms are furnished with regulation beds and bed- side stands. Many are also equipped with 25" televisions, cassette radios and clock radios. Residents are encouraged to bring items that make their rooms home-like.
  • Resident rooms are cleaned on an ongoing basis
  • Routine cleaning of floors, bathrooms and common areas
  • All linen including sheets, blankets, spreads, rubber sheeting, pillows, and towels are provided by Knollwood’s HSC
  • Electronic Wander Guard system is available for residents who may have a tendency to wander on occasion
